Nebuchadnezzar's Statue: Daniel 2:
  1. Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream "an enormous, dazzling statue." However, upon awakening the dream had left him. He asked his astrologers to tell him the dream and interpret it but they could not.
  2. Daniel interprets the dream:
    • "You [Nebuchadnezzar] are that head of gold." Daniel 2:38 - Babylonian Empire.
    • Chest & arms of silver - Medo-Persian Empire.
    • Belly & thighs of bronze - Macedonian (Greek) Empire.
    • Legs of iron - Roman Empire.
    • Feet partly iron & partly clay - Europe after the fall of Western Rome.
    • As iron and clay do not mix so the the kingdom will remain divided.
    • "A rock cut out but not by human hands" struck the statue on its feet.
    • The statue crumbled into dust and was blown away by the wind.
    • The rock became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.

      *The rock is the everlasting kingdom of God.

Daniel's Dream of Four Beasts: Daniel 7
  1. Lion - Neo- Babylonian Empire (626 - 539 BC)
  2. Bear - Medo-Persian Empire (550 - 330 BC)
  3. Leopard- Greek Empire (330 - 30 BC)
  4. Non-descript Beast - Roman Empire (30 BC to 476 AD)
  5. Ten horns - The kingdoms of Europe after the fall of the Western Roman Empire.
  6. The Little Horn:
    • It comes up from among the ten on the fourth beast (Rome), uprooting three horns that were before it.
    • It had eyes like a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
    • He speaks blasphemies against the Most High and oppresses his holy people.
    • The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.
  7. Heavenly judgment is pronounced, the beast is destroyed, and the earth becomes the everlasting kingdom of God.
Daniel's Vision of a Ram and a Goat: Daniel 8
  1. The two-horned ram represents the kingdoms of Media and Persia.
  2. The goat is the kingdom of Greece.
  3. The large horn between its eyes is its first king, Alexander the Great.
  4. At the height of his power the large horn is broken off. This is symbolic of Alexander's untimely death.
  5. In its place four horns appear toward the four winds of heaven.
  6. They represent the divisions of the Greek Empire by four of Alexander's generals.
    • Antigonus - Asia Minor.
    • Cassander - Greece.
    • Ptolemy - Egypt.
    • Seleucus - Southwest Asia.
Another Little Horn:
  1. Out of one of the four horns another grows, small at first but grew in power.
  2. It reached the host of the heavens, and threw some of the starry host down to the earth.
  3. It magnified itself equal with the commander of the army of the Lord.
  4. It took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down.
  5. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.
  6. He will cause deceit to prosper, and consider himself superior.
  7. He will take his stand against the Prince of princes, yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.

    *The little horn is the Roman Empire that succeeds the Medo-Persian and Greek Empires. Its history would appear to encompass many centuries.
    ~~~~~~~
    *Its actions connect it with the little horn on Daniel's fourth beast, the first beast of Revelation 13 and the scarlet beast of Revelation 17. They are all one and the same entity.
The Seventy 'Sevens': Daniel 9
    Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place. Daniel 9:24
  1. The seventy 'sevens' (or weeks) equals 490 days in literal time, or 490 years in prophetic time.
  2. The end goals of the seventy 'sevens' noted in the verse above is strongly suggestive of the fulfillment of the promise of a Messiah given in Genesis 3:15.
  3. The seventy 'sevens' are divided into three distinct periods:
    • Seven 'Sevens' = 49 days or years
    • Sixty-Two 'Sevens' = 434 days or years
    • One 'Seven' = one day or year.
The Seventy 'Sevens' Timeline:
    Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' Daniel 9:25
