~~~ The End-Time Antichrist ~~~
The Little Horn of Daniel 7:
  1. This exposition is from Daniel's vision of the four beasts that came up out of the great sea.
  2. "While I was thinking about the [ten] horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully." Daniel 7:8
  3. "I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and about the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell - the horn that looked more imposing than the others and that had eyes and a mouth that spoke boastfully. As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them..." Daniel 7:20-21
  4. "The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this [fourth beast] kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time." Daniel 7:24-25
  1. "But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High." Daniel 7:26
The Little Horn of Daniel 8:
  1. This exposition is from Daniel's vision of the ram and the goat.
  2. "Out of one of them [four horns on the goat] came another horn, which started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land. It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them. It set itself up to be as great as the commander of the army of the Lord; it took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down. Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground." Daniel 8:9-12
  3. "In the latter part of their [the four horns] reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior." Daniel 8:23-25
The King of the North of Daniel 11:
  1. This exposition is from Daniel's vision of the conflict involving the king of the north and the king of the south.
  2. "The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard - of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all."
    Daniel 11:36-37
  1. "Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him... at that time your people - everyone whose name is found written in the book - will be delivered." Daniel 11:45, Daniel 12:1
The Two Beasts of Revelation 13:
  1. This exposition is from John's vision of the beast from the sea and the beast from the earth.
  2. "The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast [from the sea]. People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, 'Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?' The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. It was given power to wage war against God's holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation." Revelation 13:3-7
  3. "It [the beast from the earth] exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed." Revelation 13:12-15
  1. "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True... The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean... The beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf... The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur." Revelation 19:11, 14 & 20
The Scarlet Beast of Revelation 17:
  1. This exposition is from John's vision of the scarlet beast.
  2. "The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come." Revelation 17:8
  3. "The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast." Revelation 17:12-13
  1. "They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.” Revelation 17:14
The Final Conclusion:
  1. The end-time antichrist documented here is the last in the long line of persecuting powers prophetically revealed in the books of Daniel and Revelation.
  2. This antichrist is not an individual but an evil organization of many parts, one of which is the civil powers that be who willingly support it.
  3. The texts quoted above reveal what characteristics of the antichrist they have in common:
    • This antichrist establishes itself slowly at first but grows in power by way of its craft of deception and lies.
    • Its deception is so great even some who call themselves the people of God are brought under its influence.
    • It creates a rebellion on earth against God, God's law and God's holy people. It boasts of itself to be as great or greater than God, even claiming to be a god.
    • With the working of the two-horned beast, also known as the false prophet, it promotes itself as the foundation of a new religion which includes idolatry.
    • It wages war on God's holy people and defeats them. Meanwhile, the unrepentant people of earth are in awe of it and seduced into worshiping it.
    • It and all the forces it commands will confront the armies of heaven at Christs' second coming and God's judgment will be pronounced against it forever.
